LIVE REMIX OF THROBBING GRISTLE'S NEW DESERTSHORE ALBUM - 9th JUNE
- As part of the 'We Can Elude Control' event at De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill On Sea, Sussex, Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti will be performing a live remix of Throbbing Gristle's final studio album 'Desertshore'.
The album was instigated by, and is in memory of, the late Peter 'Sleazy' Christopherson (1955 - 2010) as a ‘cover’ album, and is inspired by Nico’s 1970 ‘Desertshore’ LP, originally the soundtrack to Phillip Garrel's mythopoetic film 'La Cicatrice Interieure' (The Inner Scar).

NEW COSEY FANNI TUTTI SOUNDWORK
- Cosey has composed a new sound piece ‘Bioschismic’ that can be heard as part of the 'Bruce Nauman Days' exhibition at the I.C.A. in London.

“Time becomes plastic. Your experience of time morphs................ And when you come out of it, on the strong days right before the next scheduled infusion, all of that time compresses into blurry waves of noise.” Xeni Jardin
Time is defined by and within the human experience yet the dominance of ‘linear’ time prevails. We are inextricably linked with time, ‘Life’ is measured in time.
Depending on particular situations our experience of time can be elusive, appear stretched, accelerated, and on occasions all too specifically in synch with defined parameters. Audio recordings, film, Internet, and photography are some of the means by which we choose to mark ‘times’. Such documentary methods signify our need to externalise particular events and also to activate memories.
‘Bioschismic’ is created solely from audio and photographic documentation of Xeni’s time spent receiving Chemo Therapy. The repetitive drip drip rhythm of the toxic chemicals measured in precise doses over a specific period of time provide the prospect of extending (life) time. Time is the dominant force yet the effects of the drugs change the experience of time to a space that is other worldly - a different time zone - a schism within and for life itself. Cosey Fanni Tutti

CARTER TUTTI VOID - TRANSVERSE ALBUM - 26th MARCH
- Mute are pleased to announce the release of CARTER TUTTI VOID’s Transverse, a unique collaboration from Chris Carter & Cosey Fanni Tutti (Throbbing Gristle) and Nik Void (Factory Floor), out on vinyl, CD and download on 26 March 2012.
Transverse is a unique collaboration, created especially for the legendary Short Circuit presents Mute festival at the Roundhouse, London in 2011.
The tracks were prepared in the studio and then performed and recorded live in front of an audience. Outside of the trio, these recordings were unheard prior to the festival and the popularity of the performance left many being turned away at the door.
Mute is proud to make this groundbreaking recording available and to be working again with two of electronic music’s true pioneers and one of its new trail blazers.
Said The Quietus of the performance: “…a warm embrace, creating a deep connection… Carter at the back manipulates the electronics while on either flank, Void scratches noise with bowed guitar and Tutti plays while singing vocals that she mangles and distorts… there is no nihilism in this noise, nothing but a deep and wonderful sense of love.”

Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti will premiere a selection of live remixes from Throbbing Gristle’s nascent, and final, studio album: a cover of Nico's 1970 Desertshore LP.
This will be preceded by a rare screening of Philippe Garrel’s The Inner Scar film for which Desertshore was soundtrack and inspiration.
